"Prove to me that there is a God."

This was the first question our Philosophy professor asked us yesterday. He had asked us if we believed God exists beforehand, and believe it or not, I'm undecided. O_O

Our professor stood in front of the class, and said that after reading our answers, it seems like almost everybody believe in Him [except for me and my other classmate]. I wanted to take part in that discussion as well, but with my professor and classmate [Pilosopo talaga tong isang to eh XD], I've thought I'd rather not argue with them anymore. So both of them presented their arguments, both coming from the Bible.

Remember the way of the cross? Jesus was helped by Simon to carry his cross. Read the passage carefully. Was the cross returned to Jesus by the time they reached the top? There had been no account that had happened. It's possible that Christ was not crucified, but the man who was nailed on the cross was Simon.

When Jesus was crucified, he had a conversation with a prisoner who happened to be dying with Him as well. The prisoner asked that if He really was the Son of God, He would come down and save them. But, did He answer? No. He was not able to answer because He was not Christ, he was Simon.

Third, one of the seven last words of Jesus was this: Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. Analyze the sentence carefully. If you would say this from Simon's point of view, it will make more sense. Father forgive them, for they do not know who they're crucifying. Take note that the Jews during their time possessed the same facial features.

Of course, they're easily rebuttable, but unfortunately, my classmates were not able to defend their side. It's because they believe in something they do not know much of. Agnosticism.

I've told this arguments to my mom yesterday, testing if she can answer those arguments. And what a lucky daughter I am, she got mad and said I'm not to attend masses anymore. I'm also not to speak God's name. LOL. She took it seriously. O_O

I'm not saying that I'm taking the side of the Atheists, but still, I am in doubt of God's existence. There is a big difference in doubting and asserting. I am not saying that God doesn't exist, I'm only questioning it. But to tell the truth, yeah, I still believe that there's a God. =)

Now, there's still an argument left at the end of our discussion. We Christians say that God is someone Almighty and Absolute. He had nothing in Him but goodness. Let me ask you this questions:

If God is good, why did He allow evil to happen?

Where did evil came from, if God is the Creator of all things? Does that mean that evil came from God Himself? If that's the case, wouldn't it be questionable if God was someone possessing absolute good?

There. I have some answers prepared since he gave that assignment anyway, but still, I kinda like to hear it from other people's point of view. LOL.
